¨Transitioning from invented spelling to conventional spelling.
¨Using communication skills.
¨Developing a research project.
¨Exploring literature from other cultures.
¨Setting personal goals.
¨Monitoring progress.
¨Writing complete connected sentences on a topic with a main idea, supporting details and a wrap-up (closing sentence).
¨Writing a theme.
In the Language Arts curriculum all students will develop literacy skills as they listen, speak, view, read, and write through a variety of experiences. Reading and writing are modeled and practiced every day through whole group, small group and individual opportunities.
